Our mission is to enhance & advance the higher education profession across South Dakota.
The SDHEA Board of Directors is chosen by SDHEA membership and open positions are voted on at the Fall Conference.

The 2024-2025 President is Donna Dunn of South Dakota State University.
SDHEA stands for the advancement of South Dakota higher education professionals and graduate students and we deeply value the diversity, multiculturalism, and human dignity of our Members.
We firmly stand in solidarity with the Black community (and all historically marginalized and underrepresented communities) who continue(s) to be subjected to systemic injustices and structural inequalities. Our thoughts continue to be with the families and loved ones who have been impacted by events that have transpired in our country.
To that end, SDHEA is committed to working closely with our member institutions, especially our students, faculty, staff, administrators, and community partners who were impacted more directly, in our attempt to do our part to effect necessary change.
Our vision is that SDHEA is the premier higher education organization in South Dakota.
We value professional development, networking, communication, transparency, & supporting growth in the field of higher education.
